Early College High School

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some wonderful news about an exciting opportunity available to our students at Frontier Jr-Sr High School.

In partnership with the University of Indianapolis and the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL), we are proud to be an endorsed Early College High School. Through our dual-credit program, students can earn both high school and college credits simultaneously, allowing them to get a head start on their higher education journey.

Our partnerships with Indiana University Advanced College Project at IUK and Ivy Tech Lafayette make this opportunity both academically rigorous and financially accessible. Frontier families have already saved thousands in estimated tuition costs since we became an Early College High School. Beyond the significant financial benefits, dual credits open doors for students to finish college earlier, pursue education overseas, or explore multiple majors.

If you have any questions about this program or would like to learn more about how your student can benefit, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

Early College is a term used to describe programs & a culture within high schools that promote students toward dual college credit opportunities in a variety of paths.

A dual college credit is a high school course that has been accredited by a higher education institution and therefore counts as both a high school and college credit.

Frontier HS Seniors can actually enroll and take IVY Tech College Course on the Lafayette Campus or online during the high school day. Courses are taught by college professors and count both as college and high school credits. Students get the full college experience and immersive, hands-on learning.

The Indiana College Core is an agree upon block of dual credits that according to Indiana state law must be accepted at all state funded universities. Some private universities also accept the Core 30.

Currently, there is no cost for dual credits and nearly no or minimal cost for dual credit or dual enrollment credits through our college liaison- IVY Tech.

The state of Indiana has developed the Core Transfer Library (CTL) to assist you in seeing how credits transfer between institutions. More information about the CTL can be found at www.transferin.net

Frontier HS is a wall to wall Early College school where all students can sign up to take and earn dual credits as long as prerequisites have been met.

Classes and Teachers

Frontier offers a vast amount of college credited classes and includes several different partner organizations. This page contains a comprehensive list of all of them, including how many credits they are worth in parentheses and how long a student takes the class for. Each class is organized by their respective teacher.
