The 2019-2020 school year for students at Frontier School Corporation will begin on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The school day begins at 8:05 A.M. at Frontier Elementary School and Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School. The school day concludes at 2:55 P.M. at Frontier Elementary School. The school day concludes at 3:10 P.M. at Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School.
Online registration for the 2019-2020 school year opens on Monday, July 8, 2019. Parents can access the online registration on the Frontier School Corporation website at www.frontierschoolsin.org. Use the EZ Student Registration link on the right hand side of the web page. Students enrolled at Frontier Elementary School or Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School do not have to attend registration in person and can instead register online utilizing this link.
All new students at Frontier Elementary and Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School should plan on attending the consolidated student registration on Monday, July 29, 2019 and Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
Consolidated student registration for Frontier Elementary and Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School will be held on the following dates:
Monday, July 29, 2019-12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Tuesday, July 30, 2019-12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
The consolidated student registration will be held at Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School. For the ease of registration and in combining resources, parents from both buildings will register in one location. This allows registration to be a one stop process for parents with children in both buildings. During the registration process, parents can:
- Register students for classes
- Pay book rental fees
- Deposit funds into a child’s lunch account
- Pick-up class schedules and classroom assignments
- Complete all necessary paperwork needed prior to the first student day
Again, these tasks can be completed by parents online using the link on our website. Parents of returning students do not need to attend registration if you complete online registration. Computer labs will be available for parents and guardians to fill out paperwork at the student registration dates on Monday, July 29, 2019 and Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
Textbook rental fees are encouraged to be paid prior to the first day of classes. Parents in need of financial assistance can fill out the necessary paperwork for financial relief for textbook rental.
Chromebooks will be distributed to students during the first week of classes. A parent meeting will be held at the conclusion of the Frontier Elementary Open House on Monday, August 5, 2019 concerning Chromebooks at 6:30 P.M. for students in 5th and 6th grades.
School supply lists and Application for Assistance (Free/Reduced meals and textbooks) is available on the Frontier School Corporation website at www.frontierschoolsin.org.
Any parent seeking to enroll their child as a transfer tuition student must make arrangements prior to registering at the respective schools. Transfer tuition forms are available at each building and the school corporation office at 126 E. Main Street in Chalmers, Indiana. The Frontier School Corporation office can be reached at 219-984-5009.
Frontier Elementary will hold an open house on August 5, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. The Open House gives parents and students a chance to meet their teacher and become familiar with their classrooms prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School will hold an open house on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.
Frontier School Corporation will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Students will not report to school on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. The school day will be conducted via an E-Learning format on that date.
Frontier School Corporation will have a week long Fall Break from Monday, October 21, 2019 through Friday, October 25, 2019. School will be dismissed for Fall Break at 2:55 P.M. at Frontier Elementary and 3:10 P.M. at Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School on Friday, October 18, 2019. School will resume at the conclusion of Fall Break on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 8:05 A.M. at Frontier Elementary and 8:10 P.M. at Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School.
