Distance Learning

Distance Learning will begin on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.  Parents and students can access a Wi-Fi or internet signal from the parking lot at Frontier Elementary and Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School.  If your son or daughter is using a device at home you might find difficulty in connecting to the Wi-Fi signal. Due to issues with potential computer viruses we cannot support outside devices on our Wi-Fi network.  We cannot take the chance of a computer virus shutting down our network at this time.

Information regarding obtaining Chromebooks or IPADS for students was emailed home by Mrs. Carmen Bordner, Frontier Elementary Principal.  Mrs. Bordner’s email is [email protected].  Jr.-Sr. High School students who need to get their Chromebooks should email Mr. Jeff Hettinger, Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School Principal.  Mr. Hettinger’s address is [email protected].

If your son or daughter’s Chromebook or IPAD has an issue, please email [email protected]

If your son or daughter is having problems with the Distance Learning platform (i.e.-Google Hangout, Zoom, ect.), please contact the classroom teacher with these problems.

Distance Learning will be different from E-Learning.  A “Frequently Asked Question” document is available on the Frontier School Corporation website at

Wi-Fi Access

Frontier School Corporation has expanded Wi-Fi signal at both Frontier Elementary and Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School.   Students and parents have expressed not having internet access at their homes.

Frontier Elementary now has Wi-Fi signal that extends into the parking lot on the north side of the building.  The Wi-Fi signal extends to the second overhead parking lot light in the parking lot and covers the first twenty-four (24) parking spaces. The Frontier Elementary School east side parking lot is also covered by the Wi-Fi signal.

Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School has Wi-Fi signal on the south and west side of the building along the curb.  On Monday, April 6, 2020, we will install additional Wi-Fi signal which will extend the signal further into the parking lot.

Frontier School Corporation Chromebooks should automatically hook to the Wi-Fi signal using your child’s log-in.  The Frontier School Corporation Wi-Fi signal will be filtered and so some internet sites will be unavailable due to the filtering.

Downloading Content to a Device (Chromebook, IPAD, or Laptop)

A document will be added to the Frontier School Corporation webpage for a tutorial for downloading content to a Chromebook, IPAD, or Laptop.  If you don’t have internet at your residence, you can drive to Frontier Elementary or Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School and download the content, save the content, and return to your home for your son or daughter to complete the assignments.  You can then drive back to Frontier Elementary or Frontier Jr.-Sr. High School for your son or daughter to upload any assignments due. Please check our website for this tutorial.
